Ethics Challenge
The Mindful Marketing Ethics Challenge is a unique collegiate competition in which teams of undergraduate students develop written responses to a specially prepared marketing ethics case that involves important moral issues in the field. Qualifying teams advance to an in-person finale at which they present summaries of their recommendations to a panel of expert marketing practitioner judges and other attendees, after which all enjoy food and networking.

AI in Marketing
Virtually by the minute, artificial intelligence is changing the way marketers work. While many changes are good, leading to increases in efficiency and effectiveness, some changes raise moral concerns.
The 2026 Ethics Challenge case describes how two partners in a fictitious video production agency are wrestling with challenges of using AI ethically. Just as they realize it would be unrealistic for them to not use any AI, they also believe it would be irresponsible to not establish guardrails to guide their firm's use of the technology.
The Ethics Challenge is for undergraduate students from any major and is limited to 12 teams. Teams' written case responses are due by September 25. The in-person finale with teams' oral presentations, dinner, and networking, takes place on October 7 at 4:00 pm at Messiah University. To receive the case and competition guidelines, faculty members should contact Dr. David Hagenbuch: [email protected]
